WHATS FOR LUNCH ? STEWED CATS ! !

Crystal's latest acquisitions, an unmatched pair of new Piston Bullys hit the ground this week. A new 400 free cat (non winch ) and the big brother winch 600 with a cable run 150% of any other cat currently on the hill. If this doesn't raise the bar for wall to wall grooming I don't know what will.
Although on second thought maybe the soup guy could spread massive bowls of rice for you scoffers to ski on Queens Run. Frankly he impresses me with profound organizational skill, to wit :) When you get to the head of the line it might help to be ready to order. The same could be said for lift queues.
After witnessing what the Campbell staff put up with the past few weeks I am relived that no mayhem occurred. The same dear folks who can't decide which way to go in lift line, let alone on the hill descended enmasse upon said lodge on a daily basis. The cutting edge staff action occurred when several young men were conversing/shouting across tables with much profanity and were asked to leave quietly. Personally I would prefer to see a good ladle thrashing, or perhaps spoon beating.

I took a well deserved break the weekend past,. returned Sunday evening to a near empty B-lot and frolicked about on near unpopulated slopes so far this week. I managed a little walk about in the Silver Basin environs before the temps dropped and observed substantial unprovoked snow movement, which now leads me to proceed cautiously when said debris may be cloaked in a fresh coat of paint later this week. As of 10:40 it's 25 and the wind is blowing all the weekenders rubish about the lot. Amazing how far a bit of doggie doo will roll....
I remain your intrepid B lot scribe, older and still slow. :)

I shouldn't have gone last weekend but I wanted to ski with my wife. The GI (gaper index) was extreme, and not just because I was there. Some highlights:

The Gold Hills lift was stopped for me so that I could load my large, heavy, provision laden backpack which was sitting next to me on the chair. Just as the lift started two guys shot up to the side of the chair to jump on with me. The one on the backpack side, with no place to sit, proceeded to fall and get caught under the chair. Now here's the part that will shock you. They had been drinking.

Loading on the Queen: Somehow a woman tried to sit on my lap, which didn't work.

Loading on the Queen: my wife skied onto my ski so I couldn't move. Chair ran into me and I ended under the chair

Riding on chex: as I listened to the 2 skiers and boarder talk about how they should have gone up the bunny hill on their first day ever, I had a bad feeling about the unloading. All 3 went down including the boarder under the chair.

Mind blowing: the number of snow boarders laying down on the slopes on the backside of rollers so they are totally out of sight.

Leaving in a few to go bask in the solitude of mid week...
