Woo Hoo! Jerman -- Another Rockin' Viddy!
Superlative tune selection; exceptional camera work; Spielburg class editing and compilation.
Another keeper, mate.
And seeing as how we haven't used up our one shot quota for the thread, what better way to use it up than to imortailze the author of the TR?:

I hate it when I do things like that (the boot trick, I mean).
Nice pic, Michael.
That's a good call for a nice tour for visitors, and Sunday was definately the better of the days, weather wise.

Nice pictures you guys! Looks like you got some nice corn snow down there!
Definitely seems like the fallback on Adams from Sahale was a good option!

how far up were you able to make it?
hi Charles: we stopped at the Lunch Counter -- the snow above the Counter didn't appeal to us. but it is starting to corn up though.
it looked amazing up there! great shots of you all.
mad dog, nice report and pics! it was definitely a gorgeous day out there. if we had made it a little higher, we might have been able to wave to you from adams! 8) glad you guys had a great time shuckin'. :)
yes, we did get to the bottom part of lunch counter ~9000' before we stopped to turn around (after basking in the sun for a bit :)). thanks for a great day you guys! great views and great snow....who could ask for more? (btw, skip, you would have liked the shwack...)
Nice June skiing in early March! What can you do, might as well have fun! 8) Here's another corny(get it) video:

This looks like a nice photo, but it is really big and blows out the formatting for the whole page (at least on my view). This is why the guidelines say maximum width of 600 pixels. Could you repost a smaller version, and then include a text link for the full-sized shot? That's a method that a lot of people seem to use and works well from a readibility point of view.

Thanks for the report and excellent access details. I do have a question, though (or maybe I'm just not seeing it): how far up were you able to make it? I don't see any photos from the big south slope, so maybe you turned around near the Lunch Counter?
No that seems like a pretty good way to celebrate one's birthday. Nice job. Great report.
I've got to say, I am both impressed and encouraged by how many of you are willing to drive the 5hrs to Adams for somewhat questionable snow! Threads like this make me feel like a driving wimp.
Ah damn it, the Chick Magnet still needs bearings. It can't be time for Adams yet!!!! ;D Good job Kaminator crew, always ahead of the curve.----Jerry
Looks great you guys! Way to go! I think the yo-yo finish is quite impressive 8)
Excellent report...I had been thinkin about heading down that way for some corn...but the drive from Vancouver B.C. is a killer...but is worth it for the turns down the SW chutes in butter! Any ideas when FR 23 usually opens???
there's continuous snow for skinning starting at the campground, but it appears to be melting fast.
"Continous" meaning you don't mind skinning over short (usually less than 10-ft) sections of bare dirt/roots/rocks below ~5,500' ;) It's currently not too bad though; we were able to ski all the way back to the car in the forest without taking the boards off :)

Adams time already? Better stock up on Red Bull for that drive . . .
That IS a nice little chute heading out to Coleman Pin. We were thinking of trying it a few weeks ago but thought it would be sketchy coverage underneath the new snow. Did you guys hike straight up it or did you drop in from the top? Sweet!!!
Thanks Kenji and Paul for a awesome trip.
And thank you Paul for the pics. That's especially a nice close-up of Kenji.
I'm still stunned by how consistent the snow was. Kept thinking it would become grabby, slow and thick. I guess that's a bright side of this crazy winter, doing typical spring/summer trips with still a weaker winter sun. We did a...

whoa! Now that brings back some old memories. Way back when - I'm talking 20 years ago - my brother and I attempted to ski from Willamette Pass to Cresent Lake. Young and stupid - not to mention not really knowing how to ski - we made to about as far as your turnaround and set up camp. I think we headed out the next day. I've done a fair amount of skiing around Mt Thielsen - being from Roseburg originally - but I've always wanted to head back to Diamond Peak. Sounds like Central and Southern Ore...
Great photos, (the latest link is working), thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys had an awesome day.
Hey Lowell,
Great running into you up there. You were hauling ass up the hill. The snow became easier to turn in/slushier, as we got down lower.
Amazing low coverage around paradise,
-Gus

Nice report, MadDog. What, No Pictures?
Mike, we saw you and Brenda go by but couldn't catch up to you to say hi.
It's hell being old ;)

...can't take credit for good instincts or a 'first of the season'...I was going off beta that some folks I know had been up there the weekend before and found some good turns :)
very nice call on another "first ski of the season". Good info for those of us taht come behind you, too.
Thanks, Kamster.
Thanks, Kamster.
You guys are animals, Paul.
Nice choice.
btw, we miss your pics, your link says we're "not the owner of the album"

i don't know what you're talking about.
Good instincts, Pete.
Another "first of the season" descent.

Good info. It helped us decide where to go the next day.

I wish I could have made it - looks good. Casshole tells me you brushwacked a quarter mile off the summer trail all the way to treeline. I found this very pleasing.

nice to meet y'all Kenji. hell of a job knocking off a ton of vert in one day!
Those late-starters were us: Paul, Monika, me. Because of the forecast, we didn't think skiing would be good much above 8000'. It turned out to be a perfect spring tour day. We reached just above where Pete's group stopped around 2:30 a bit above 10000'. After a quick 3000' run, Monika dragged Paul back up for another 1000' while I took a nap under Sun. We were back at our car at 6 pm. A big 7000' day for me, a typical 8000' day for Monika and Paul. Hopi...
we saw those 3 skiers heading out Sun morning on our way to Paradise. Made me hurt just seeing them packing their skis.
hi Mark:
thanks for the report! i agree, the views are spectacular in all directions up there. i'm glad you found corn, even though it seems early. :)

Brenda and I were there on Sat and, after a brief rest at Nisqually Lodge, returned for more fun on Sun. Sat wasn't bad, but it took a while for the crust to soften - fat skis solved that problem. Saw Dorothea and crew up there on Sat. Seemed like more skiers on Sat than on Sun. Really nice snow from above Pan Point and down some chute east of there that we've never skied before - pretty steep too. Back bowl was pretty good too. Lots of tracks way east below Paradise Glacier on Sun. We'll have t...
JibberD, more people did show up at Paradise, but with the weather being somewhat summer like, the skiers seemed to be outnumbered by people just enjoying the nice weather and hiking around Paradise proper. We only saw one other skier from our perch on "scary Jerry".

Very nice - thanks for the report Kam!
It sounds like Sunday DID turn out to be the better day at Paradise. The NOAA guys must be suffering whiplash from their flip-flopping forecast. What happened to "mostly cloudy with a chance of rain" on Sunday?
Glad you hit a good one!

Sounds like the three of you had a good day in your playground.
Not that I regret skiing at Baker on Saturday, but it sounds like you were rewarded with some better skiing and weather today.
Did more people (skiers) show up later in the morning?

Eric - thanks for the TR and all of the great info in it. Really helpful photo too.
Nothing else to say but...amazing.

Jerry, I've already got version 7.1, but it doesn't show the picture with your movie (only sound). I'm not on OS X so can't go to a higher version. Is there any possibility that you could save your movies in a version 7 compatible format without losing any of the features that your movies have in version 9?
