Just for the record.... I have had a dynafit mount on new pair of skis F&&ked up by Marmot. I'm sure just an aberration...but don't take them for granted. They did admit it (as the redrill was hidden by the bindings) but ... it happened. That ski also eventually broke and I suspect it was because of the mount and they did warranty my skis but they took an Alford plea and would only give me store credit as a result which irritated me.
Pro-ski= no issues.

It's my understanding that the Pro-Ski on Aurora is under new management. From the website : "With three new eager-to-please owners, ... "
Pro-Ski has a reputation for quality ski work; may the tradition continue. Marmot, too, has a good reputation, and my limited experience with their work/advice has been excellent (disclaimer: one of the folks I ski with a few days a year works in the Marmot shop). I expect that at least several other shops also do excellent work, but I've no close encounters with their work.
If a pair of skis really matters to you, consider offering the shop extra compensation in return for paying extra-special attention to your skis, with the understanding that the shop will be buying new skis if there's an error. It's difficult to make the risk/reward equation work out in the ski mounting business. If you only screw up a mount 5% of the time (that's 2.5% of the time, per ski), you still need to charge $20-30 per pair to cover your errors. You have to make up the meager profit in volume, but increased volume drives error rates up.
I'd second Greg's recommendation for mounting your own, if you have the skills and time. 2x4s (and flatter wood, recommended in a recent thread) are really cheap practice fodder.
Measure often, cut occasionally.

You should be okay doing them yourself, I've done a non-moving heel-piece twice and assorted other Dynafits a half dozen more times with no problems. Critical to find your boot placement and mount the toe first IMO. The center screw goes first allowing you to fine tune the alignment. Mark, drill and seat the remaining screws. A piece of tape wrapped around the drill bit helps stay consistent on the depth. Take the time necessary to get it right. The heel needs to allow that little bit of extra room for the prongs to not interfere with the boot sole in ski mode. But if you really want reliable mounting and aren't interested in a do it yourself approach, Pro Ski in North Bend won't do you wrong.

All you need to know is here:
www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.p...t=mount+fucking+skis
I use to pay someone to mount my skis, now I do my own and have successfully mounted 3 pairs of dynafits. The money I saved in mountings basically bought my newest volcano ski. I should also mention that I am a complete idiot. I suck at this kind of stuff. All three mounts came out beautifully. Save money and get'er done right...win-win.

Marmot is the only shop I will let touch my skis-they were selling, servicing, and mounting Dynafits 15 years before the rest of the ski industry even knew what a Dynafit was.
