I have yet to pick up on the sort of "territoriality" out on ski tours that I hear claimed happens on certain surf breaks. The competition for the resource is perhaps not nearly that intense yet, at least here in the PNW...

You've obviously never been at a Northway rope drop at Crystal on a powder day !! Gnarly, human nature at it's most selfish, the weak get skied over, pressure to perform is intense. Stick elbows out, push if you have too but don't fall. The ski patroller's shake their heads in disbelief and try not to get knocked down as they drop the rope. Locals get pole positions, tourists are relegated to the back via pre-drop line snaking and intimidation. Such fun!

Bob, did you see the deal at Costco?  Snowshoe package only $80 bucks!

That was probably responsible for the brief amusement we experienced at Skyline Ridge  (SHHH its a secret!)

to post or not to post?  Would it be better to post general area reports, with elevation and aspect, then to not post at all?

I find these types of reports the most useful and I thank folks like Silas who report general vicinity, aspect, elevation, and conditions.

I enjoy TAY for the stoke.  Hearing what other guys and gals are doing makes me happy and excited.  Sharing what I'm doing is fun for me.  Once in a while when I get a kudos from someone I look up to, it makes my day.  I haven't had the experience of sharing something and then having that place get over-run.  The only place I visit regularly is popular whether I talk about it or not.

This thread is a bummer.  Having the word "TAYer" tossed around like its a bad thing... If you don't like "TAYers", maybe this forum isn't for you, or maybe it isn't for me.  Discouraging trip reports on a site that has an active trip report section doesn't make sense to me.
