The pictures below depict:

-The first failure - Heel Riser

-The second failure - Total explosion

-The MacGyver - Thanks to my partners for helping, I got two laps out of that improvised repair!

Dropped my skis off at REI last night, I'll update when they hear back from Dynafit.

Has anyone else experienced this total failure?

I've had a #2 above before on a pair of dynafit comforts. Plastic around one of the screws failed, causing the binding to vomit parts all over the place.

Dynafit will certainly warranty the binding, but you'd save yourself a bunch of time by contacting Salewa directly via email and attaching these pictures.

Update:

Heard back from REI yesterday and was told that Dynafit will not warranty the bindings.  REI has agreed to replace the heels with the new ones at their expense, so I guess I'm covered but really think that Dynafit should take care of it.

Joined the Dynafit Heel lifter explosion club today. I didn't have risers for the rest of the day, but otherwise the bindings worked fine. Will bring them into Marmot ASAP hand hope for replacement.

Reason? I've never had anything other than a positive response when dealing directly with Dynafit/Salewa customer service re: warranty issues (4 times in about 10 years).
