I built a bench a couple on years ago out of scrap. Key to have a raised lip to keep wax scrapings off the floor and out of the rest of the house. Used a couple old skis for bracing and to add a shelf for storage. Skis are held in place with 4X4s covered with carpet backing. Key to have hole in the middle to move the wex scrapings, hang a pre-ban plastic shopping bag for the refuse. I have since built a couple for my buddies, one without legs which sits on a saw horse and another just like mine. One buddy put a light inside, an opaque plexiglass top and uses it to sort vintage slides from his father's collection.

JD it looks to me that if you did a little improvisation that you could make that into a hot box to soak the wax in the skis.
I like the idea of the 4x4 wood wrapped in rubberized kitchen shelving sheets.
I will now have two benches in my new shop so I can rotate from ski to ski without having to take them off the vice to cool.
