I've been wearing the Marmot Minimalist jacket for the past couple seasons. It's seems to be one of if not the lightest-weight hardshell available and it packs down to virtually nothing, just as the Paclite Goretex implies. It's an adequate 4-season shell for the PNW.
I use the OR Radiant hoodie that works well as an insulating softshell under the Marmot jacket, and skinning layer. The Radiant is not rated for windstopping capabilities, but it's quick drying, breathes well, and it's warm enough for our climate. It packs well, but not very tight. Toured the Coastal Mountains around Pembertion on a four-day excursion in Arctic-cold single digit temps over the MLK weekend and the combination of the Marmot Minimalist, OR Radiant, and a light weight Smart Wool thermal worked just fine for me. (Patagonia Down-Hoodie for transitions/descents).
Things I don't like about the Marmot Minimalist is the oversized hood (helmet compatible- I don't wear a helmet), and nonexistent inside-pocket storage. Overall, I'm a fan of the packability of the Goretex Paclite products. The OR Alti mits (also Goretex Paclite) with fleece gloves work great, too.
