The kids and I ran into Kyle in the CM parking lot Saturday. I don't think I've ever seen anyone so stoked. I doubt he'll have any fun in yurp though.....

yeah .. i'm worried about the snow conditions there .. but still i think he will find things to do .. and just rubbing shoulders with guys like xavier will be cool .. i hope they get to ride together ...

There will be a sneak peek of our newest film FreeRider this coming Sunday, Jan 15 at Crystal Mountain in the Chinook Level of the Day Lodge at 6 pm. So, if you're in the area or up on the mountain stop by and say hello to Kyle and stay to watch the show. It will be fun. Our "big" U.S. premiere will be on Feb 3 at the Seattle Mountaineers as a benefit for NWAC. This will be a double feature with another ski and snowboard film Wyoming Triumph. More details on that to come later.

For those of you who don't already know about FreeRider ... here's the PR and film synopsis ...

FreeRider is a short documentary about Northwest, born and raised, splitboarder Kyle Miller, who's been quietly ripping it up in the Cascades over the last few years. Lately, he's been getting quite a bit of national and international attention for his riding ... being featured in articles in Frequency, Off-Piste and Backcountry magazines, shredding in South America last summer for the film Solitaire, and presenting FreeRider to a packed house at the 7th International Free Ride Film Festival in St Lary, France in early December.

Anyhow, FreeRider chronicles his ski bum lifestyle, his passion for splitboard mountaineering, his love of the mountain wilderness, his triumphs and disappointments, his pain and his joys, and his dedication towards fulfilling his riding dreams. It was filmed last season while he climbed and rode the 10 highest peaks in Washington. Jason Hummel was along on most of his trips and shot a lot of the backcountry footage for the film. Jake Hase, formerly of Crystal Mountain and now shooting for K2, also filmed some of the BC footage. Robert Chrestensen of Crest Pictures shot the front country stuff and Kyle did the Go-Pro footage. The soundtrack includes 5 really talented PNW groups: Elk and Boar, Handful of Luvin', Again and Again, J Minus, and James Coates, plus international recording star Moby
