Kyle Miller's FreeRider Thurs, Feb 23 Bellingham

just a quick update .. friday kyle will be on his way to south america for a month -- to climb and ride some of the volcanoes in bolivia .. and then on to argentina ... a dream come true for the man!

he will be traveling with sweetgrass productions .. a quality crew imo .. so we're really looking forward to seeing their footage on Solitare – their "On the Road" webisode series:

So much is going on now .. we are finally done with the film, after 7 months -- and it's only a short! Now we're lining up venues throughout the west .. but staying adamant about premiering in front of the hometown crowd -- Feb 3 in Seattle baby .. with a sneak peek mid-Jan at Crystal. We also have some awesome news about a "world premiere" at an upcoming film festival -- but I can't say anything about that yet ..

In the meantime we have been posting some outtakes on the FreeRider website .. and I thought some of you might get a laugh ...

Great news! FreeRider is having its world premiere next week at the International Free Ride Film Festival in St-Lary-Soulan, France. We're so proud to be 1 of only 16 films chosen to be screened during this prestigious event. Kyle scored some airfare from Eddie Bauer's 1st Ascent and is heading over to present the film and to tour Europe for a while. The 3 day festival kicks off the ski and snowboard season in the Pyrénées, so I suspect he'll be getting in a few turns with some notables while he's there.

We're planning a sneak peek for the local crowd on Jan 15 at Crystal, with the Seattle premiere on Feb 3 at the Mountaineers. We're also working on other Washington and West Coast venues, and will be posting those on our website as they are confirmed.

Kyle, I really respect your skill and dedication to the sport. As the sycophants and promoters start to pile on, just remember it is only snowboarding and mountaineering. Keep in mind, and cling to, the original reasons that you came to love it. And always remember that your family and loved ones want you around. Everyone comments on your humility....that will get you farther than anything.
