Interesting, and apparently effective, social media strategy by Crystal. Kim K. put up another thumbsucker on Facebook today (title: "is it ok to die doing what you love?" Stunning conclusion? Dying isn't good).

Man that guy is a douche! >:(

As for the "is it OK dying doing what you love" thing.  After watching a friend die a slow painful death from stomach cancer I'm all for dying while doing something that I love.  Death will come for us all and I'm sure as hell not going to sit on the couch and wait!  Personal responsibility's one thing, but trite arguments against putting oneself in harms way is another.

flowers, bunnies, and kittens - that should even out the negativity of this post

The Crystal Blog is a marketing train wreck. Making themselves accessible to the savage public is one thing, engaging in a petty tabloid drama disguised as a safety topic is another. Brave or stupid, either way, protective boots may be required.

This type of thing comes with doing ski patrol. If the State laws don't involve the local law enforcement with authority to penalize the skier, then how can the Patrol demand $$$?

Please explain why the ski area is entitled to $$$ for the S&R (WACs and RCWs).

I hope that Boyne Resorts is paying the patrol well enough for this type of work...

... my guess is, well maybe not enough.
