How do you deal with rain depression?

I am currently dealing with the rain by spending my time writing the South American section for the upcoming new edition of the Adventure Motorcycling Handbook by request of Chris Scott. This involves long hours in front of my computer, with frequent breaks to contemplate my increasing girth and decreasing aerobic capacity. On the plus side, it keeps me off the street and out of trouble....although in truth I can hardly remember what it meant to live the sort of life which got me into periodic trouble.

We've suffered rainy spells before. Some of us emerge with highly customized gear (c.f., GregL), and some with beachball-sized bellies. Others merely get wet and keep skiing.

I use a rain resistance training helmet.

Wax and tune gear, then go ride in the rain.  Today was a good day and the groomers were like corn (as others have said), but my pants got pretty wet, telling me I need new ones (or at least that's my excuse to get new ones)   If the wet pattern continues, I'll start dreaming of Spring climbing season and cry in my beer!

The amount of rain at Alpental since 3pm on Saturday exceeds 5" which is incredible.  Rain runnels off the groomers when the cold temperatures return for 3 days - then MORE  high freezing levels.  Geeeez !
