Aaaahuuum......It's a very very small pompom Aaron
I'll get you a bigger pompom made and we can retrofit it if you'd like.
Seriously, mail it to me and I'll get a 3" on the top for you....... no charge!

So, what size of pompom we talking.
I have the 2" - 3" size on my "alpine" hat but a smaller one on my "nordic" hat.
Perhaps on those days were there is some awesome pow you can downsize but still keep the wow factor going.

Okay, dokay.....size does matter.

Mmmmmh. You are observing correct etiquette in the sizing of your alpine versus nordic hat, although tassels are preferred for Nordic if you are going to be absolutely correct, but because all chicas in hats with pompoms are cute you get a chauvinistic pass on that.
However, for pow days downsizing pompom size is definitely a faux pas and should be avoided no matter how awesome the powder.
And thank you being so honest in confirming what all men know but are scared to admit, namely that size does matter be it the width of your skis or the size of your pompom. Something Aaron should reflect on carefully based upon his photo.
I really think I'm growing into this job.

So being some what of a wall flower virgin to this sacred arena I beg to ask: At what level does the dayglo puffy rule come into play ? Is the puffy required to coordinate with the beanie, the tassel, or the pom ? Does the starter jacket, team of your choice, truly have a role in hybrid BC ski groups ? Is there a limit dirtbag powder 8 titles held by one individual and if so at what point do they become one. I am so confused. What was the device adorning Santa's hat ? [ vimeo.com/18230672

It's late but I'll try and answer, albeit briefly as I know these etiquette questions demand resolution quickly or they fester like a zit on a pig's ass.
Puffy/beanie/pompom coordination = Yes it is required. For example Aaron's rustic Scottish beanie would be garish with a dayglow puffy but prefect with an Arcteryrx jacket in subdued earthy tones. He has nailed the modern rustic telemarker look with that hat. It reeks , "I like artisan micro-brews and talking about my feelings with chicks I want to have sex with"
Conversely, the pants you insisted on wearing all last season would look terrible with Aaron's rustic look and demands a more flamboyant beanie preferably with a red or white pompom, 3" minimum and a jacket in either kermit green or dayglow yellow.
If going for the starter jacket or as we experts call it " the keeping it real" look it is necessary to go the whole way and wear jeans or a pair of carharts. Those that wear the starter jacket with proper ski pants have not committed fully to the look and their cowardice is apparent to all. That look if worn confidently says " I don't give a fuck" and can be very attractive because of that.
Powder 8 /dirtbag hats... no there is no limit to how many you can win. This is America and we do not ration an individuals personal success. To the victor go the spoils. Life is a competition, try and win it.
As to Santa's hat, your attempt at video insertion failed miserably so I cannot comment. Correct etiquette would have been to check your post was correct before neglecting it.
This is job is exhausting as you people need my help so much.
