I love the TAY streak when it's getting late in a summer month. "I've got to take a mountain day! The streak, you know! I'll cut the grass and do all that other stuff later! See you!"
And if it works this well at 34 months, it should be bulletproof when there are 5 or 10 years invested.

At first, I wondered if I'd had a Merlot moment. But under a new sun I think not. I have experienced the inexplicable compulsion to continue a quest. It is a feeling, nay need, that can only be understood by the afflicted. Others will not comprehend.

My take. If you must ask someone "Why", you do not comprehend. I am me and you are not me. An unchallengeable quote from my dear daughter.

OK, I have had a few days and beers to contemplate, laugh, philosophize, call BS, consider whether this whole string is trolling or not, have compassion for those who have lost brothers, and at this moment and maybe not the next, I think it could be just the next one upmanship to say you had a streak and now you don't because you are now beyond all that. But maybe the purest thing is to not have a streak going (because at the moment I don't) but still go off alone in September and suffer hours up to some god loving place no one else is at and ski a few minutes down some hellish black sanded red algaed sun cups and runneled ice and rocks throwing sparks. Especially because you can wear shorts and a t-shirt and no beacon and it's warm and light till late and you just might find some nice creamy turns.

After hitting 43 months last summer, I found that moving to Singapore was a pretty definitive way to stop the TAY obsession in its tracks.... lowest temp ever recorded was 66.9 F in 1934, highest point is 538 feet above sea level.
But there is some indoor "action"-

Hmmmmmm.... maybe my weekend just planned itself

Any movement, Scotty? I need a partner to go farm some of the August snow that Amar says is still amazingly good. I'll drive, and even pick you up at your doorstep with coffee and a newspaper. Why quit this year when the snow is still so good? I think you should quit next year.
Why do I streak? Fun is still the main reason. It's fun to have fun in such a unconventional way. As much as it sounds (on this site) that everybody is doing it, the reality is it's still a pretty unusual reason to head up into the mountains. The side benefit for me is keeping my lazy arse in shape. I may be odd in this, but if I didn't have an EXTRA reason to get out and stay in shape, I probably would become a work-a-holic homebody, getting my kicks out of actually completing home projects, and looking to start a new website Projects All Year or PAY.

Well I have 27 left days to change my mind.

Last day Scotsman.
Did you succumb and go out or did you let it pass like a leaf on a stream?
