VertFest 2010 is ON!

Great video Tim! Thanks for putting that together.

Thanks to everyone for posting and uploading photos. If any more photos or videos go up on Picasa, Flickr, You Tube, Vimeo, Twitter, Facebook, etc. please be sure to "tag" them with "outdoor research" and/or "vertfest 2010". This will make is easier for viewing all the shots.

I'm working on piecing together a survey on Survey Monkey to get a sense of everyone's experiences and suggestions. I will post the link here once it is up and running.

That's correct, no Le Mans start.   I believe this changed started winter season 2008-2009 at Alpental and Crystal. Everyone started locked and loaded.   Saw plenty of ski crampons employed at the starting line, the top Race finishers didn't though, and it didn't seem to slow them down any!!

Reminded me of ants swarming on a pile of spilled sugar . . .

I put my crampons on after Andy Traslin told me he would use his if he'd brought them, but as you say it didn't seem to slow him down much.

I posted about Vertfest on Osprey's blog and put up a few photos that my friend Ryan took during the 'fest.

Hope I got everyone's names and times correct.

I had a blast even though it felt like a suffer-fest through much of the climb and ski down Upper International.

I too would like to thank everyone that made this happen. I am looking forward to next year's Vertfest, but in the meantime here's to hoping Cliff Mass is right about predicting a March that feels more like a January!!
