A HUGE thank you to some key payers, without whom, VertFest 2010 may not have been a reality.

First off, Jeff G. and the OR crew!  They really pulled this off at the last minute and with some very limited financial restrictions compared to years past.

Next is the man, the legend, Martin V. for course setting and more!

And all the sponsors that graciously donated prizes, cash, and motivation:  Alpental, Outdoor Research, Pro Ski, Osprey, Dynafit, K2 Skis, Full Sail Brewing, Nikwax, Ben with B&G Productions for the music, Nuun, Clif Bar, and Sol Sunguard!

Last, thanks to and all the volunteers and competitors who contributed their time and finances to support a great cause, NWAC.

Cheers!

On behalf of the Friends of NWAC, I want to echo all of the thanks above. It was indeed a great day and would not have happened without the dedication of staff at Outdoor Research, the Summit, and Pro Guiding...as well as a generous contribution from Osprey. We are really lucky to have such a great backcountry community and supportive companies out here that understand the importance of NWAC and the service it provides.

A huge thanks also to all of the participants who came out to suffer on a beautiful, sunny day. It was a hell of a course and everyone who raced should be feeling great about just finishing! We had a record turnout with over 100 racers and hopefully everyone will spread the word about the good times so we can have an even better event next year.

Thanks again.

No action pictures, but here are the results:

Men's 50 and over 1 lap
Men's Race 2 laps
Men's Splitboard 1 lap
Women's 50 and over 1 lap
Women's Splitboard 1 lap
Men's Rec 1 lap
Women's Race 2 laps
Women's Rec 1 lap

Note: That Jerry Sanchez in Women's Rec is a ringer. Disregard the first two digits in the times. Oh, and nice work, Lowell!

Congratulations Leigh for winning the splitboard division!

No sunburns, right?

What a wonderful day to be in the mountains!

The echo continues...On behalf of Outdoor Research, thank you to everyone who helped make VertFest happen this year.  There was a great vibe in the air yesterday.  We truly appreciate the positive energy, smiles, time and sweat that went into making the event unfold.  A tip of the hat to all the participants, sponsors, fans and The Summit/Alpental crew and patrol.

The corrected results and donation to NWAC will be posted by mid-week.

Thanks again!

Good times, great weather, more challenging of a course this year (ice & slop) and fun people.

Many thanks NWAC, OR, Alpental, Pro Patrol, Volunteers (Black Diamond? Where were you? Roger, you said you were attending on FB) and all the others that donated gear for the raffle and donated time. (Especially the finish line where they started drinking b4 everyone else).

I rolled up with Jerry, and found it very funny that he was categorized under the women's group :)

TNT, where's the video!!!!
