liquids are definitely heavier than dry vegetative matter, in terms of joy o meter refreshment calculations

Glad you brought this up, Randy. I need a refresher on the Joy-o-meter equation. Maybe after a few canned brews it will sink in. I hope they don't make it too convenient. As Moscawulf and a few others can attest, after two, cut me off or carry me out.

Wow.
Saw the Dale's Pale Ale at Freddie's last week and picked up a sixer.  Didn't even look at the price as I knew from this thread that it was gonna be tasty. I like the more pale ales like Fat Tire and Alaskan Amber so I couldn't wait to get the Oscar Blues brew chilled a bit and going down with my favorite sandwich.
Then (like I said), Wow.
I could hardly get the can down. Gag reflex kicked in and everything. I guess my redneck taste buds have become over developed and wiped out all my "connoisseur" taste buds from drinking all that Budweiser.
That's when I dug the grocery receipt out of the garbage and checked the price of the Dave's six-pack. Ten Bucks. Bummer.
Well at 10 frogpelts for the sixer I finished off the can, but not without some additional gagging. And it certainly ruined my sandwich as well.
Next time you see me in the mountains you might check... until the other 5 are gone I'll likely have free (probably warm) Dale's Pale Ale for you connoisseur ski mountaineers coming off a tour.

Until then I have 5 cans of Dale's up for trade.
Any takers?
What have you got to trade?

I really like the Oskar Blues, BUT as Ron has found out, it is so aggressively hopped for flavor that it is frankly a tricky beer to drink if you are actually thirsty. I'll throw another one out for the thirsty ones amongst us: Tecate. Usually easy to get on sale. Wide mouth openings. Comes from a country that knows a thing or two about being hot and thirsty.

How about I guide you around the Paradise area (South side Rainier via Longmire entrance) for an afternoon?

I think that you may like it. ;)

Wow that sounds like a good deal for you Ron. Snow Bell can show you all his secret stashes as I know you have only a sketchy knowledge of that area!

I'd jump at it.

Maybe slightly off-post here, but the box 'o' wines have shown considerable improvement over the ones we used to disintegrate our stomach linings back in school. We've hiked in a couple different brands this year on backcountry overnighters and were quite happy. Can't beat the canned beer for day trips, tho.
