*21st Amendment Brewing: Out of Minnesota somewhere. Haven't tried yet. They have an IPA and a watermelon-wheat beer (!?)
The IPA is great, I've taken it on a couple backpacking trips this summer.
Also, Full Throttle Bottles in Georgetown has a good selection of micros in a can for anyone in the South Seattle area.

You don't have to brew you own to use this method. All it takes is a chilled cleaned plastic bottle with top and well chilled good beer. Transfer the beer into the plastic bottle slowly (no head) until filled and cap tightly. We have carried these bottles into ski huts and many back packing trips without a single leak.
The downside :'( :'(2 liter bottle of beer equals 4 pounds.

As a home brewer...
Does this mean we'll have a homebrew contest at SlushCup '10? I bet we could find volunteer judges...

In British Columbia we have U-brew beer operations, which I have taken advantage of for many years. I have always used 500 ml. reusable plastic bottles, which are an even better alternative to pop bottles. They fit into a backpack holster easily and allow one to spread the weight more evenly. Another advantage over cans, it the fact that you can take a swallow and reseal the bottle. I am drinking one of my Yorkshire Bitters as I type on my keyboard. As a home brewer, I've found a superior alternative to cans or bottles in your pack........Plastic pop bottles filled with your favorite brew! I bottle several 1 an :'(d 2 liter pop bottles everytime I bottle up a new batch of beer. These bottles are almost indestructible and make a great backup water bottle (maybe with a slight good after taste).
