FWIW: Sherpa Adventure Gear light/mid-weight softshell pants various colors, only $65 at Pro Mtn Sports in U-district. Stretchy and cuff-adjustable, ample pockets. I've had (much!) more expensive pants (Arcteryx) of similar build, don't seem to be a whole lot different. Sherpa also contributes to Nepalese education, etc.

Try Flylow? I've been reading their site for a while, but I'm too lazy to buy w/o trying on first.

You might just start by searching for manufacturers who work with Schoeller. I've got a pair of Marmot Schoeller pants in grey and I can't say enough good about them. They fit like jeans, have plently of stretch, breathe well, dry instantly, and have an expandable cuff that fits over AT boots or zips up closer to the ankle for use with hiking boots, trail runners, etc. Also, there plenty of pockets and they are comfy without base layer on warmer days.

Monica, These are the pants I would recomend. Too hot you have shorts,if you are cold, either layer underneath or put lightweight shell over. They have long ankle zippers for getting off and on over boots.I've worn these for years spring, summer skiing.

Cloudveil Peak pants are awesome. They're thin, but do a decent job of shedding light precip/wind and the cuffs fit over ski boots. Come in shades of khaki. I even where them under heavier softshells when skiing lifts, which, now that I think of it, is stupid, but they're just so comfortable.
