Andy could you provide info as to what model of Cloudveil you own. It seems to me that most of the new pants they offer only come in black-please advise.Cloudveil Peak pants are awesome. They're thin, but do a decent job of shedding light precip/wind and the cuffs fit over ski boots. Come in shades of khaki.
Thanks,
Joe

Cloudveil's Switchback pant is pretty much ideal - super comfortable with or without underwear, warm enough when it's cool and cool enough when it's hot, nice cargo pockets and a neat velcro/belt system (no beltloops) that lies flat under a pack. Not convertible, but you can just roll up the cuffs over the knee.
They USED to make them in both black and khaki (I have both) but for some reason only black is offered now. Maybe a letter/e-mail to Cloudveil is in order?
FWIW, the last time I saw them in khaki, it was on closeout at gearx.com (last year). I bought mine from STP.

They're called Inertia Peak Pant or something close to that. They're on Cloudveil's Web site. One of the best pieces of clothing I've owned. Two nonblack colors. I'd link, but it's pain on this POS Treo. Only thing I don't like is that the little straps used to turn them into shorts have snaps at the end that suck to kneel down on.Andy could you provide info as to what model of Cloudveil you own. That's interesting about the Cloudveil peak inertia pants. I'll have to check them out but I'm with Greg the Tan Switcbacks are the greatest. I thinkI'll forward this thread to Cloudveil and see if we can have some input recieved and acted on !

The Switchback is burlier. I doubt the Peak could take many ski edges and survive, although I've been lucky so far. I would have (and would) buy a pair of Switchbacks if they came in khaki. Black is too damn hot for spring skiing.

Hi All,
REI makes some pants with the Schoeller fabric...I think it's the Acme pant. I heard that Schoeller has a new fabric called coldblack, which is supposed to make dark fabrics cooler.
