Good to see you Lowell and Paul!
I was looking forward to this event since it ended last year! No compete, but demoing fool.
I was trying to thumb a ride back to the ski area and missed most of the raffle. But got there just in time to see Lowell pull in the Kilowatt skis! Nice job!
Special thanks to all the OR, sponsors, vendors and Crystal for hosting the event.
The demo portion was a great success, brought my new T1's and tried many of the Black Diamond tele skis. This included a banana shaped ski (Megawatt??) that must have been 130 under foot, that was awesome to tele in the deep crud and thick pow. I worked the tele tips given to me by many of the TAY faithful and had great results pulling the stance to a weight distribution to 50/50. Even the reps gave me examples of the stance in comparison to old school.
Didn't get to demo the Karhu lineup, wanted to try the Jaks-oh well, another year I guess.
The best rendition of Louie LouieAvalung trumpet competition. You can make quite interesting sounds blowing through your avalung. You could have an " american idol " type avalung trumpeting competition. ???

I don't think Randy posts here, but he is an animal of a mountain bike rider who just started AT. He will be quite the speed climber when he figures out how to kick turn.Anyone know if the "Open" winner, Randy Iddings, is a poster here?

Leave it to a Scotsman to think of this use for an Avalung!

Now would I make fun of your heritage? Do I make jokes about Norwegian pickled herring, no, because I am a sensitive soul . :'(

O LUTEFISK
(Sung to the tune of "O Tannenbaum")
O Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, how fragrant your aroma.
O Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, you put me in a coma.
You smell so strong...you look like glue...you taste just like an overshoe.
But lutefisk come Saturday, I think I'll eat you anyway.
O Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, I put you by the doorway.
I wanted you to ripen up just like they do in Norway.
A dog came by and sprinkled you...I hit him with my Army shoe.
O Lutefisk now I suppose I'll eat you as I hold my nose.
O Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, how well I do remember
On Christmas Eve, how we'd receive our big treat of December.
It wasn't turkey or fried ham; it wasn't even spickled spam.
My mother knew there was no risk in serving buttered Lutefisk.
O Lutefisk, O Lutefisk, now everyone discovers
That Lutefisk and Lefse makes Norwegians better lovers.
Now all the world can have a ball; you're better than that Geritol.
O Lutefisk....with Brennevin...you make me feel like Errol Flynn!

Do we really want to restrict the avalung competition to only those of scottish descent? What about those wise in the ways of the Bellingham/BC Avalung?
Eloquent photo.
