2006 3rd Annual Crystal Fest

If anybody else is thinking of taking kids up there, give a shout. Sometimes it helps to have moral support from other kids.

Yes, top of the FQ or whatever it's called I'm betting on a 10:00 am' ish kick off... of course alot of the fun depends on the sled dog team

Unfortunately Brett's got a soccer game mid-day on Sunday, otherwise we'd be there. Maybe we'll have to go up Saturday and leave some tracks for you.

I might take my 9-year-old son to the picnic on Sunday. Two years ago I towed him up, but this year I would put him on snowshoes.

Gee, maybe he won't need snowshoes. I dug up a pair of old Secura-Fix adapters from my basement last night. With a little filing and hacksawing, they now fit boots all the way from kid-size to adult-size:

An old climbing skin folded and duct taped over the tip of Tom's alpine ski completes the transformation. Who knows if he'll go for it? Maybe I should still bring a tow rope... 

Sorry you can't make it Sunday, Dave? Does the gear in the picture look familiar? I think some (all?) of it must have been Brett's.

I told Brett about the Crystal fest today in class and told him I'd try to give you a call tonight; consider this the call. If not this time around, I do look forward to putting in some turns with you both soon enough.
