Man was it wet on the ride in this morning. I don't think I got this soaked all last winter.

Aaron

Gusk, my fork doesn't have fender attachment points. I used zip ties and pulled them tight with pliers. Works great. I'm pretty sure I could do the same for the rear if I had to.

Ahhh . . . today was the start of the real commuter season - driving rain, gusty winds, branches down all over the Burke Gilman, 42 degrees . . . kinda reminds me of some ski tours I've done!

I don't understand how blinding drivers increases safely. I almost clipped a pedestrian on the BG because a passing bike commuter had his megawatt system pointed at eye level. I couldn't see anything else.

- Front Cygo-light $75 NiMH rechargeable 12W 2-beam. Plenty bright for town, incl. dark sections of Burke Gilman. Again, aimed at driver's eyes.

Good point, TomTom. I turn it down on the B-G or other ped zones, and turn it up for cars on streets with lots of turning traffic or where people are likely to be opening doors. And a 12W light is not "mega" watts.

I gave first aid to a kid on Brooklyn Ave this wk who got "doored" and broke his forearm. He was riding too close to the parked cars and the driver didn't look back before opening the door. Shared responsibility, but the bike rider gets the short end of the stick. It showed how it's safer to be out in the lane and visible.
