The Crystal management has put pressure on the employees this year to follow procedures. For example, ticket checkers have been instructed to physically touch your ticket/ pass or face firing.

This could be what is happening with the brown bag rule--the employees instructed by management to enforce the rule or face the consequences.

Kind of a rough place for an employee...

And mtneer ordinaire , please don't let Scotsman's post (gentle threat) keep you from stating your opinion. In person he's actually a very nice guy.

Interesting Keith, I have noticed that they are all reaching out to hold my pass and there is a lot of pausing to read the names... "Thank you for skiing with us today, chica and chics..."

I have been in the middle many times between management and "the people" and it's not a fun place to be. I completely respect the guy who came over and have to add that although I used the descriptor "smartass" I was by no means rude. The employee kind of smirked, probably recognizing the ridiculousness of relying on guilt alone to get us to move and how he was possibly going to "enforce" our leaving.

That being said, it is too bad that Crystal can't recognize that a place like Whistler for instance embraces BBers throughout the resort and as a result I've bought way more fries and hot chocolate there than I have ever even considered at Crystal.

Hope to ski with you guys soon. Like a lot of others, waiting for some new snow. The hard snow makes my knee hurt.

it's snowing in Olympia... i got some near-turns down a frosty sidewalk earlier this evening!

i also noticed the ticket touching...

no amount of smiles hides unfriendly policies. if i didn't feel like a trespasser at crystal i also might spend more there. i feel much more inclined to purchase goods at places like white pass, where they don't mind giving out free swag and seem to embrace the bb'ers as well.

i hope i dream tonight that White Pass buys crystal from boine... :

Crystal at 7 am this Sunday morning: temp at top 2 degrees, ave wind 42= wind chill of minus 26. Gusts up to 91 mph!

Anybody trying out their sharpened carvers ?
