I experienced the same lineup problems at Cypress (North Vancouver) yesterday afternoon. Beautiful day/high volume traffic and no shepherd for the sheep. They have the singles line joining at the top, maybe 20 ' from the chair, and still people can't seem to organize themselves efficiently after spending 15 minutes moving slowly forward.Ski hills (and almost all service industries) are crying for manpower help in British Columbia. Cypress does have a Host program. They are obviously short staffed at the lifts, but my observation is that some customers need to be "herded" to maximize chair occupancy.

Would anyone like some swiss cheese? Stop whining and take a step back to reflect on all the things you enjoy in life, and how lucky we are to have such a great mountain like Crystal in our backyard. If lift lines on weekends are the only thing you can complain about then I must say...what do you expect for a weekend in January? And by the way, Crystal does have a host program. I was greeted yesterday by them as I was in the lift ticket line and they were very friendly and helpful. Now stop complaining and go ski!

Suppose the real problem is just sheeple in general.

Snowgirl, I agree, life is good when all you can find to complain about is the line to get up the hill and not other things such as, oh food, water, first aid . . . hmm. I am so fortunate and I really enjoy the fact that I even get to ski.

And of course, I can see Keith's point of view, that maybe as a paying customer, there might be some response. Guess, they get credit for not giving him a pat BS answer, but hopefully they are mulling his suggestions over . . .
Cheers!

I think you're missing the point. The complaint isn't the lift lines themselves, yes any given weekend in January is bound to have busy lift lines and should be expected, but when a 6 person chair lift has a long line and chairs are very consistently being loaded with only 3 or 4 people that to me is a problem.

It's a powder metering program, just like on-ramps to the interstate. If all those people ahead of you were getting onto the lift faster, they would be tracking everything out that much more quickly and completely, right?
