One statement in article from pro skier saying that he felt airbags might not work as well on treed slopes.

Remember Tunnel Creek - the pro skier gal did deploy her airbag and was the only one to survive. I don't think there are many cases in treed terrain to compare; most cases of airbag use are above tree line.
IMO, there's enough riding to be done in PNW where I prefer to have an airbag. I would definitely use on open slopes and chutes. Not so sure for trees, current inclination would be to deploy in trees too, I think.

Products like the Snowpulse Life Bag protect the head and torso by inflating around the head and neck and down over the front of the shoulders. This offers a trama buffer to the front and the back is protected from the pack.

I believe ABS (2-bag design) offers some protection even if one bag gets punctured, plus it still creates some buffer around one's body - admittedly not as close as Snowpulse.
