1. Move to the Northeast.
2. Ski 4-5 days/week on frozen mud for a few years. Throw in a day or two/week of training gates, gs and slalom, on race skis.
3. Reminisce about the fat snowpack, fatter skis, and turns-all-year to be had back in the PNW.
4. Move back.

On a side note.
I broke my ski brakes skiing on Steven's a few weeks ago w/o knowing it. (I found a black piece laying in the snow by where I crashed)
Took it home just in case it was something important, but everything seemed to work at the time. Fast-forward a week and when I was skiing at West, I slipped and my ski brake came off my ski, I was able to hammer it in, but it seemed pretty loose. I did a searching on how to install Dynafit brakes and found the clip that disappeared was the retention clip. I was able to take apart my binding, replace the clip on it and put it together w/o any issues, as well as upping my DIN from 6.25 to 7 all by myself.
Was pretty happy about learning my first bit of ski fixing. I've also done my first wax job on the ski's, we'll see how that goes when I ski it this weekend!
Enjoy the week/end folks!

I skied some of the best pow I've ever skied today and couldn't decide whether to weight my heels or lift my toes, so I just closed my eyes and let the Manaslus run, just slightly unweighting my left foot, then my right, and repeat.

Right on.

Another vote for neutral and centered in any snow. If someone tells you to lean back in heavy snow it is likely they are not an expert skier.
Right on.

A slidey ski is a turny ski. I remember years ago telling Snow Bell that I had never waxed my skis, and did he think I should. He drily answered, "I don't know, Don, you might want to do what 99% of the other skiers do..." and now it's part of my religion, as is honking through the tunnel by Skykomish.
