WD-40 report. I coated the liner exterior plastic and any areas of the shell that rub. The results are encouraging, much quieter around the house. The real test on the slopes will tell the whole story.

I tried some last year when I was getting frustrated with the noise while trying to enjoy the ambiance of breaking trail in the silence of snowfall.

It worked for a few trips then returned to its' noisy self. I suppose continual use of wd-40 is the answer.

However someone once told me to try some kind of silicone, I don't recall the details and never got around to trying it.

Let's hope wd-40 in continual applications is the answer. Interestingly, my tele boots never had that problem in far more years of use than did my randonee boots.

Any other thoughts from others? Charlie? Amar?

Maybe some type of motor grease or graphite could help out, but that's th eonly thing I could think of outside of oil itself.

I would hesitate to put any solvent based lubricant like WD40 on any plastics. Liquids don't stay where you put them. I would try silicone grease, or maybe a little white lithium grease.
