Hmm. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll see how much action I can pack into a day. The weekend telemetry for the east side is looking really good actually. Cold front just hit here in Seattle and the temp has dropped dramatically (8-10 degrees). Tomorrow has snow showers w/ snow level of 2500' both sides. Saturday some snow at 1-2.5k snow level, Sunday drier and cold w/ snow level at 0-1K. If enough moisture makes it over the crest I think it could be stellar.

I think your reading of the forecasts is right. It's getting colder in general not warmer. I think the best bets will be the bowl 4 area and the lower shots of windy ridge. Frankly the in area skiing is going to be good as well. Should be busy as well, I think the groupon was quite a success. There were a lot of folks up last weekend on it.

Okay that was pretty fun. Just enough dust on the crust to offer some real float...3" + leftovers I think? We did inbounds until lunch and then grabbed avi gear to hit Windy Ridge.....only to find it had just closed!! Anyone know what was up with that? I saw an avy crown but thought it might be older?

Had fun anyways and got some good adrenal squirts in the Bomber Cliffs. So fun doing real rock chutes and mandatory straightlines!

There was a sizable skier triggered slide just below the microwave towers. There was a large amount of hangfire and unstable snow still on the bowl. After hours on Saturday patrol did some evaluation and control and eliminated the most dangerous hangfire and triggered another slide that stepped down mid slope with a 8' crown. These slides took most of this season's snowpack down. Skiing on Friday, Saturday morning, Sunday and today was sublime in Bowl 4 and points beyond.

Did that skier-triggered event happen around lunchtime on Saturday? We saw a large crowd heading up to the towers in the AM. Any deets on the incident? I tried to find a picture of the avy on my camera but unfortunately my CCD isn't large enough for good digital zoom on the one picture I found facing the right direction :(

I think it was around 1030 or 1100. I had been out to Bowl 4 twice already. I heard second hand that a skier cut across the top of Virgil's and triggered the slide and it propagated into shot 6. The control work after released a bigger slide. There is mention of it in the NWAC bulletin of the past couple of days, but about the same info.
