I think we just have to be like Alecapone. Choose one location, and ski there the rest of the year. When he posts, you can wager your first born that he rode something off hiway 2. Makes things easier, reduce finger fatigue from having to do that extra research.

Scotsman, I concur. Even though I agree with the OP reality is people are going to post the way they want. Stands to reason if one is not going to include location or be elusive about it then stoke, e-gloating and boasting seem to be acceptable and appropriate on the forum... and why not, this isn't a guide book forum. Maybe I'll rethink my own etiquette and post my secrete stashes for the stoke and fun of it

in the end it is useful to the reader if authors at least reveal the region... just a helpful request, if not ok fine.

Since you have entered the discusion, it was your Shames TR that got me to start this thread. While reading the TR, which was a good read and great photos by the way, I did not have a clue where this was. I quick search did reveal that it is in BC, but it would have been very simple to put the location in the title or in the body of the TR? I'm not trying to twist anybodies arm, and I wasn't trying to make a big deal out of this either, I just thought it would add to the TR if it was clearer in regard to the location.

Once again, I'll state, I'm not looking for a detailed step by step guide book type read, Just a general statement about the location. I simply read these TR's for the enjoyment and knowing what location inspired the TR adds to the read, IMO. And most are done very good.

Yeah!  Go freedom, liberty, and creativity!  And resourcefulness.  All qualities that define the best of what backcountry skiing is about.

I get tired of hearing of another button for this, another app for that.  Whatever happened to good old fashioned self reliance?  To the glory of the human body, the human mind, and community.

And kudos to Ale for keeping his carbon footprint low!  Hail regionalism!  And globalism too!

FWIW, I agree with most of what is said here about minimizing codifying and the stifling of creative writing.  On the other hand, I know of at least four different Red Mountains...

Which brings me to my point..  One of the Consequences of Community is to Identify with, and to Speak to, individuals with whom you have a  relationship  (positive or negative).  lee lau was right ~ this place is colloquial.  Because of our affinities, as individuals, we speak to each other as members of a tribe, each of which presumably knowing of what is spoken.  Tight and cozy, at times ~ hemmed in at others.  How we are organized, what we say, and how we say it determines the reach of the Community.  Nobody wants to be part of a pigeonholed data box experience ~ creative individualism reigns..  In that creativity, it is not unreasonable to consider an audience beyond our immediate brethren.
