“Here’s the over 50 category”… Humm

Last year there were three women in the over 50 category. I determined then that I would represent in 2012.

This year there were five of us. Next year…? Congratulations to Tobae McDuff, the most experienced of our group of five (oldest) who beat us all. Strong work.

Thanks to the NWAC for the work you do, and all the sponsors, volunteer’s and patrol who make Vertfest possible.

I am so proud of my son Per - finished one lap with a respectable 1:36 in the middle of the pack at age 12. Way to go Per! He's stoked and already talking about racing next year.....

Kudos to Per. I was in the skin track behind him until he scampered up the boot pack. Very impressive kid and clearly has a future as a randonee racer.

Thanks to the organizers and bc community. Thought a lot about Monika on Saturday, and know that there are new mourners after the events of Sunday.

^^^ X2! I've met the kid, and he has the build and genetic disposition. Props to Frank Neumann, still rockin' the skin track at 70, too!

With the strong interest in this event, I wonder what the prospects would be for a bit of a circuit in the PacNW? They seem to have that going on in my home hills of New England, on terrain better suited to Sl training.

It only takes someone with initiative and a little spare time - the New England series is pretty much put on single-handedly by Jonathan_S. (see above post). Brandon Kern threw an impromptu rando "vertical" event on Christmas Eve day and a surprising number of people showed up in the rain to race, so the interest is definitely there.

I had a complete blast this year- thanks to all the race organizers for putting on such a well run event despite the blizzard like conditions.

And the face shots in Snake Dance during the race!?! Outstanding. Should have gone for 2....

What a great event everyone. It was a blast meeting, chatting, etc. It was very hard to come home to the sad news. :(

Thanks to everyone who made this event happen. You guys put on a first class event. Here are some images I managed to get. Next time I'd better bring a towel to keep my camera and lenses dry! LINK to gallery .
