The only problem I encountered was removing the snow from under the toe piece before locking into touring and skiing modes. My finger, pole, and binding leash clip all performed poorly. Just wondering how people solve this problem.
Hold the ski upright and snap the toepiece open and closed a few times, the snow will normally fracture and fall out. And spray under the wings with silicone spray before you leave home.

Also, try not to scratch up the topsheet under the wings while clearing the ice. It only makes it stick better in the future.
A trick to avoid icing - whenever you click out in icing conditions, even if there's ice under there, click the toe wings shut. It keeps snow from building up underneath in handling, and it will slowly press the wings into the ice (see Amar's Paradise webcam thread from long ago). This is of greater importance if you're about to leave the skis outside overnight.
Cycling the toe wings several times, as Greg suggests, works most of the time for me. Careful tapping with a whippet solves nearly all the rest.

Scotsman, are the B&D leashes breaking at the zip tie? IME, the zip ties are worthless. I hardwire my B&D leashes on and they never break.
Zip Ties......I would never want to have skis attached to a leash that never breaks...in any avy....even if they are on a 6ft line after being knocked off by the force of an avy. They still are anchors... even at that distance and could hit you etc.etc.

The hard-releasing Dynafit toe on the tour up makes me pretty nervous, for sure -- we were skinning up when we triggered the Phantom slide and there was no way we were doing anything at all to get out of it. The one AT guy was on Fritschis, which released for him.

Didn't you switch back to brakes, Chris? Anastasia has switched all her skis from breakable leashes back to brakes in the last few months.
Yes I did...and I'm glad to hear Anastasia has done so also.... they just don't work but I understand the attraction to them.
Yes, skinning with toes locked in avy terrain....scary .
