AT boot recommendation for wide feet ? was created by mBraun
My old boots are Lowa Struktura size 29 (usa 11) which fit my wide feet comfortably, but do not have fittings for Dynafit bindings that I want to get for my next pair of skis. I would prefer to get some light boots with medium flex as I am getting older and do not ski too hard or too aggressively. I tried a pair of Scarpa Maestrale size 28.5 that fit tightly but OK for the few minutes I had them on in the store. I also tried Scarpa Spirit 4's size 28 that were a little too short and too narrow. I tried on other makes and models at the end of last season, but , alas, they were all glass slippers on my feet. Suggestions anyone?

I have paddles for feet and am currently skiing in BD Prime boots. I have to have my alpine boots punched out, but these are fine as is. However, I found the liner that comes with them to be too small for the shell so chucked it and went with another liner.

My vote is for Maestrales. I just got them this season, and had them out twice without cooking them. Best fit out of the box I have had. As to the width issue, I cannot speak, as my feet are an average 27.0 with low arches. Good luck in your search.

I have super wide feet and have always had problems. The BD Primes are great. I took out the footbed and had them custom molded (hat's off to Drew at ProSki), and now they're perfect. They have a naturally wide toe box and the three buckle system they have can't be beat. The liners do suck though. I ended up buying a pair of Intuition Pro tour liners and that made a HUGE difference.

Scarpa, Black Diamond, and now Tecnica have the widest fit "out-of-the-box" but if the shell isn't perfect for your foot you don't have to leave it that way. I have a wide foot as well but wanted to use the TLT 5 (not a wide shell by any means) and my bootfitter was able to get it to work fine. As long as the shell fit is OK, don't pay too much attention to how tight the uncooked liner feels . . .
