WMC is very good a stirring the pot, posting alarmist information and sound bites to get peoples attention.
At best I find it coercive, at worst it's promoting a personal agenda cloaked as a public desire.

I'm still sorting out being called a sociopath, alleged skier for disagreeing with WMC/Rob. But who are the foaming-mouthers?

Well, do you like skiing in a limited area shared with sledders?

I ski plenty of terrain where sleds do have the right to ride and have no issues with it.
If I'm looking for some peace and quiet in the BC, there are plenty of places where I know I can finds that as well.

I have skied in snomo country since the '80s. Plenty of places where they come and go, not bad all of the time. The big change in the past 6 years is the prevalence of the new technology and better use of it exponentially expanding the acreage now rutted by snowmobiles. Modern snomo ruts are not skiable. back in the old days the shallow compaction of less HP shorter cleats was not so bad. Now 160 HP and up and 2 to 3 inch cleats, and long tracks that can trench a foot or more each pass. Also, modern machines and skilled riders go through trees in soft snow, not possible in the past as with new technology.

Sadly I learned about snomo guys favorite word, "sharing." Snowmobile riders starting about 4 years ago were able to climb up from the Road and climb through trees following my downhill ski track. I guess they were looking for powder, and figured correctly that my track came from my stash. All legal, but now it became a rutted snomo area, no longer a place to ski. I have learned to avoid making tracks to lead snomos to powder stashes yet undiscovered.

Most of the Wenatchee Forest is currently available for snowmobile riding, per USFS. Year by year snomo riders will look for powder, will find a route with a little cutting, and once busted through with a group it becomes a snomo riding area. Without management, some areas set aside, the close areas for skitouring may get taken for snomo riding.
