Sound restrictions for snowmobiles

It would make a huge difference to me, and in a positive direction for touring in adjacent areas as sleds. as it stands the noise pollution is unbearable and totally unnecessary.Do you think it would make a positive difference in your backcountry experience? Not trying to get a land use war going (already too many of those), but I am curious if you think it would help, if you would appreciate it, and anything else that you think.
Thanks

Follow up question:
If a sound level rule was created to limit the sound of snowmobiles to near stock, would it change your view points about snowmobilers?

It would not change my view point.
noise pollution is really only a small part of the problem. The rest of the problem you've requested to not drift towards in this discussion. I'm biting my tongue here... and just say the last two winters I've encountered sleds INSIDE wilderness areas I like to ski tour in. Can't really cover this topic much more without including everything...

Will it change my view point about smowmobilers? I can only guess, but I don't think so. The nice ones will still be nice, etc. But sure, maybe the less abrasive experience of encountering a pod of 'bilers will have some effect on how I think about them.
