I couldn't agree more with " P Buddy's " self-assessment:

...in desperate need of new skis + ... a reward of some sort + ...Otherwise in ONE MONTH of this posting I am a happy camper = a complete ass

Wow, the unawareness is striking. He left you in a pretty bad spot, depending on your supplies and energy available to get out from where your gear was cached on foot rater than skiing, and is demanding a reward? Feel free to pop him in the nose-after getting your gear of course.

I think he should carry your stuff back up there with ALL your gear (including a gourmet picnic) so that you get to have your "post summit feast and ski" as you intended...
