Snomo in couloir was created by WMC
From the TetonAT website, a snowmobile climbing a couloir-

The riders of Mountain Mod Mania, riding their Impulse turbo powered Nytro's and Apex, slayed the Terminal Cancer chute in Elko, NV. A chute that many said couldn't be climbed!
These sleds make over 350HP and as you can see used up every bit of that horsepower. This climb took over one minute and twenty seconds to climb. The sleds had to be helicoptered off the top!
A shelf had to be shoveled at the top to park the front of the sleds and then they were tied off with ropes to keep from crashing back down the chute!
Awesome job Paul, Rhett and Travis, I'm proud of you guys!"
Instead of skiing the Colchuck Glacier, perhaps I need to modify my Skidoo and just ride to the col and do powder laps instead? From my observations and experience, if I did, it would probably get posted online and USFS would say, "there is nothing that we can do about it."
Those stories, told me by Ray at the Saw Shop, of a photo of a snowmobile "on top of Stuart, I saw the photo." Also the legends online of a group of snowmobile riders climbing Cascadian Couloir. Compared to the above, very believable! The worst kept local secret of the local snomo skitouring group and sledheads of "riding from Stevens Pass to Cle Elum." across the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Quite a bit easier than the above, I long ago skied those drainages from Stevens Pass to Cle Elum on skinny skis and touring boots!
A USFS manager recently referred to this web posting below when explaining to us that the problem is solved because of peer group pressure- hooray!

Snomos in Headlight Basin and over Stuart Pass, posted by the snomo guys. Good to know that it is only a few scofflaws violating the Wilderness on snowmobiles, it would be so much worse if it were just regular folks violating the Wilderness(?). Heck, those few scofflaws have only been riding across Ingalls Lake in the Wilderness "since 1984" according to a source respected by WMC, USFS, and snowmobile enthusiasts.
It is time for management of snowmobile riding on the Forest! It is time for skiers and leaders in skiing to step up and ask for reasonable management of snowmobile riding on the Forest! Thinking ahead, where will we see snowmobiles ridden soon in the future, if USFS continues to favor snowmobile recreation and refuses meaningful management or significant enforcement?
Your voice is needed to preserve opportunities for quiet, self-powered on-snow recreation.

I think this perfectly sums up the issues with sledding, and absurdly funny to boot:

Please stop, your posts are just becoming too much for one to handle. I agree its not cool for people to poach the wilderness but in all honesty build your own website and stop throwing this stuff on TAY.
This is a website for people to give beta on conditions and routes not throw out propaganda which is what you have been doing since day one.
Feel free to PM me for a discussion but PLEASE leave it off the board.

Sorry Kyle.. you know how much I admire and luv ya but on this one I'm going to disagree with you.
As much as I disagree with WMC and also feel that his anonymity is both cowardly and counterproductive to his cause.... I will also defend his right to post his views here in Random Tracks.
I may not agree with his views but I grudgingly admire his fervor and lack of apathy.
Free speech can be messy and intrusive at times but better than no speech....ask the Syrians.

Valid but it would hold much more weight if it were put on by the original poster.

That would be the same as a political party such as the Dems or Republican Party being allowed to post propaganda..... but then again the Alps3 group are allowed to post their stuff....so.. mmmmh... it gets complicated...... but your point well taken..... we have always considered WMC one individual not a group using that avatar.... if that has changed( the syntax and grammar are definitely not up to WMC's previous) then WMC should clarify.

Good point also... if WMC has morphed into a group comprising many people posting under the same avatar... then I agree.... they need to state that and the moderators need to deal with the issue.Valid but it would hold much more weight if it were put on by the original poster.
