This thread has definitely taken a turn for the worst. ::)

OK... no more bragging about other people to serve as proxy for other peoples success. ;)

Not that I want to nor could I do any 1st decent but maybe the rule should be that it would count only if someone had previously been killed or maimed in an attempt. Then that would be something to crow about.

Alecapone and Ryan sentiments mirror my own. I love the history...to know what others have done before, what others are doing now...and I love to know the tracks I have followed or may be forging for others to follow...be it old timers scouting for a road up Agnes Creek or skiers linking perfect weather and conditions to ski a traverse such as the one I talked too a Stehekin local about this past week (and see on skoogs site) of a traverse from Diablo to Holden. That's awesome stuff! And challenging no matter in what year past or present.

But back to the OP. My advice is to enjoy the adventure of discovery. One of my favs is to get a map, leave my watch (but have begun to carry a spot locator) and go on an adventure. When it gets too much outside my comfort zone, I go home, learn more and then go back out and try again.

I bet I was as stoked about my "first descent" at Blewett Pass as some are over real first descents...

Ski for yourself, and be stoked, and share it :)

Here's a first ascent and descent all rolled up in one.
I dedicate this video to WMC.
