Welcome to the Cascade mountains! You should definitely start exploring Rte 2 options instead, Snocrummy pass stinks.
When it's snowing feet at a time I think it's prudent to expect travel problems...the DOT guys busted ass all day today up there.

Looks like it. Didn't that very same slide path rip out a last winter and partially buried a car or two?!? Photo from winter '08:
Why can't they figure this out?? I know there's no cable tram and that slope has to be mitigated by someone skinning up and placing hand charges. How many times does it have to rip there before they take it serious? ???
Yeah they have their work cut out with this storm cycle, and I should cut them some slack.
Sometimes the closures work in your favor. In 2008 I was forced to ski Alpental practically alone for days, as I was stuck up there during the epic 3-day closure. Snowfall was around 5 feet for the 3-day storm cycle and no way for the masses to get to it. Thanks Matt and Heidi for rolling out the welcome mat and letting me use their spare room!!! Prior to their generous offer, I was poaching Summit Inn's hot tub/shower and sleeping in the car. Good times here in the PNW!

Is that a picture of "never slide"? at the west end of the bridge?

Being stuck on the right side of that closure in 2008 remains one of my favorite ski memories. Those 2 days of lift served cat skiing for 50 people the 1st day and maybe 35 the second! Yellowstone Club I-90 style.

A good reminder to pack a sleeping bag and some extra food when hitting the lifts at the passes during extreme hazard conditions. Sounds like epic fun, Corey.
