Yeah, I'm not regretting not having taken off work to go ride lifts today...

Check out the wind direction and temps for the Snoqualmie site too. For the pass (at 3800 ft) its reporting in the mid-teens with a wind from the SE. At the Alpental site (at 5530 ft) the winds are from the SW with the warm temps and looks like the cold air is getting nicely trapped in the valley. The winds at Alpental are also gusting about 2X as high as the pass site.

It's quite a remarkable display of pass flow in different directions at different elevations, most dramatic at Stevens. Cold easterly flow at all levels initially, being overrun by warm southwesterly flow starting around 8-9am, with a clear wind direction reversal up high by 10am. But the cold easterly flow stubbornly continued at pass level, and the resulting temperature inversion was amazing: at 9am, a 20 °F jump in only 860 ft of elevation (8 °F at 4380 ft, 28 °F at 5240 ft). Would have been a bizarre lift ride up Skyline Express at that time.
As of 11am, it looks like the easterly flow at Stevens has almost completely shut down, except for a thin layer right at 4000 ft. A much deeper layer of easterly flow remains at Snoqualmie due to the 1000 ft lower pass elevation.
1pm Telemetry Update: Easterly flow has finally ended at Stevens. Looks like it's just about to end at Snoqualmie, with only a thin layer of cold air left below 3700 ft.
4pm Telemetry Update: Easterly flow ended at Snoqualmie by 3pm, but the heaviest precip of the day arrived then too -- meanwhile precip had tapered off at Stevens. Looks like all the interesting stuff is over now.
At least Stevens Pass is finally getting some big snowfall today, the 20" new is more than any other location. Stevens has been one of the few sites in the entire Cascade Range (from BC all the way to northern California) to be below-normal for snowdepth thus far this season. But the normal snowdepth for Jan 15 is 75" at the 4000 ft Stevens site, so it still needs a lot more in the next few days to catch up. The forecast doesn't look good for that.
Might as well post the relevant data here in the thread, for posterity:

Very interesting indeed.
More importantly, any reports from the field on actual snow conditions at either pass? Powder, freezing rain, crust, rain, elevations affected etc?
