The gondi delay was from locals screwing up.


It really amounts to the quality of the wire rope that they purchased>it is pretty difficult to get that much footage pre-stretched to the load capacity requirement. So the calculated buffer got exceeded, I assume due to the quality of the wire rope. Besides the elongation due to material there could be elongation due to the tolerance in the weave.
Think I'll wait a couple weeks after it's open before I take a seat in those gondys.

The wire rope mfg are supposed to pre tension the cable. The hydralic tensioners should take up the slack. Either the wire rope company screwed up or the engineers calcs were off. Either way it's down time and not good. Where was the wire rope mfg'ed? The Philippines, China or Switzerland? That will tell the whole story.
