Thanks for all the great info guys!

I have checked out the Dynaduke plates before, but had been skeptical, especially for use with Dukes/Barons. I already ride Barons and have always thought that you stand quite high on the ski, and with the Dynaduke plates you're looking at an additional 7 (ish?) mm in height. Can anyone comment on this? Can the Dynadukes be used with FT12 (binding bridge a problem with a two plate system?)?

Also, I have heard other skeptics of the breaks on dynafit bindings, but I for one am a bit concerned with leashing. (Imagine the ski takes a dive under a tree, whatever, acts as a giant anchor, torn knee?!?) Anyone have opinions on that?

Could someone please post a picture of the side profile of their Dynadukes with the boot in the Dynafits and the Dukes? Or link to one online other than the one on the TGR thread as I cannot find one. I’d like to try them but I’m curious about the stack height on the Duke’s too. They are already quite tall.

I use Dynafit brakes and for me the extra weight is insignificant, they work as designed, and I have no strap or hook shenanigans. Drop skis on the bases and they will stay there until you click in. Plus you don’t have to ski with the toes locked if you are in a place where a release will send your ski on a long ride.

I have used Dynafit leashes for the past 15 years after watching a few friends skis slide away from them while attempting to enter the binding on a steep, firm spring slope.  In late May, I bought a pair of the B & D leashes as mentioned in Lou's thread. I have only used them about 10 times.  I attached a split ring on the rear of my boot for attachment.  It is quite easy to leave the leashes attached to remove and apply your skins. Time will tell.

I have the dynadukes mounted on 2 sets of skis, and the FT12 works just fine with this. Remember the "rib" connecting the toe and heel piece on the ft12 is purely cosmetic- I if wasn't so vain as to actually like this window dressing I'd cut it off. I think I'd be hard pressed to say I noticed any difference skiing with Barons mounted on DPS120's -/+ the dynaduke plate. I'll look around and see if I have a picture when I'm home.

As mentioned they work fine with FT12's, you just have to cut the fiberglass connector thingy. not  a big deal as it doesnt really do anything.

For added height....i didnt notice it. not on the dukes or the vertical ST's i run with. If you come from a racing back ground or somehting you might but i doubt most people will notice. The ONE thing you will notice is the brakes kind of crapify up a bit. On the dukes with stock brakes they dont quite seem to latch together for carrying. Still get plenty of grip for actual stopping they just got latch for carrying.

As for leashing....not sure what you are wondering? Do you mean should you use a leash with dynafits? Thats a whole can of worms in itself. Theres options like zip ties that offer lower resistance for break away. But another thread would probably work for that topic as its one of those you will get 1000 different ideas.

And pictures for all! Just for reference i was tight on space so had to prop up on the side of our four wheeler. Dukes are on ~180 K2 mt. bakers and dynafits on 186 lhasa pows. Garmon Radiums 315 BSL. Some pics might be from when i mounted so that explains any differences in what i just said. I can take more or different ones if someone wants.

and before anyone notices/says anything....the rust on the lhasa's has been fixed :P
