Thanks for the pics velillen. Very informative. Curious if you or anyone has used ski crampons with Dynadukes and if it works ok?

I've used dynafit crampons with them, worked fine for me.

Also, to clear up, the rib does NOT need to be cut to use ft12's with the plates. I come from a strong racing background, increased stack height is not something I really notice, but I will say that on my current GS skis the binders also have riser plates. If your barons bother you now then maybe the extra 7 mm would be a problem too.

I know several people who have ripped toe pieces out skiing dynafits hard, and I think the plate interface largely eliminates this as the binding interface is now connected through 5 M5 screws to the plate with the plate connected to the ski throught a much wider hole pattern.

for crampons you do lose some of the penetration, though not bad. Basically the first "point" becomes useless. it doesnt go but maybe 2-3mm (if that) past the base of the ski. After that the middle is more like the front would be without the plate and the biggest is more like the middle without the plate penetration wise. I would take a picture to show but ST's are on the lhasa's and my crampons are for the bakers so dont quite fit lol.

As for the FT12 rib. i have heard it has to be cut but as Mofro said you might not need to. i tmight be just due to duke size (large/small) vs what BSL your AT boots are compared to a alpine. Who knows either way dont worry, if it has to be cut its no biggie and if it doesnt have to be cut then yay!

I have used Dynafit leashes for the past 15 years after watching a few friends skis slide away from them while attempting to enter the binding on a steep, firm spring slope.  In late May, I bought a pair of the B & D leashes as mentioned in Lou's thread. I have only used them about 10 times.  I attached a split ring on the rear of my boot for attachment.  It is quite easy to leave the leashes attached to remove and apply your skins. Time will tell.

me too. they stay in the pack except for steep hard snow ascents and descents.

I use dynafits with dynadukes on lotus 138's (about as fat as it gets) and wailer 105's. I've put in lots of hours both uphill and downhill on both setups without issue. FWIW i'm on TLT comforts, and I like to think I ski decently hard, or that at the very least i'm hard on my gear.
