Ah, now I see -- that piece that I had thought was tacked down all the way across has a small unsecured section that allow the clip to slip in . . . very clever!!!My came attached to the left shoulder strap, in the front.

Same pack. It's a pretty good day or full day pack.
Here is a load for tomorrow.
Sweater, vest, down jacket, hats, goggles, 3 pair gloves, wind jacket, gore pack lite Jacket and pants, skins, crampons, snacks, 1st aid, repair kit, maps and compass, probe, shovel beacon, camera, headlamp, about 75oz water in hydration system. can even hold a helmet.
With helmet 20.5lbs, w/o 19lbs. I may drop some of the water weight and replace with snow as I climb.

Joe, did you have this same pack @ Crystal Fest?
I think I saw you with something pretty small, and you list so much stuff you can fit!
I should probably buy one at this price just in case
Cheers

Joe, you fit more in there than I have!
Thanks for the photo.
Guess I need to poach your list and purchase some items that I am missing.
Tomorrow I'll be trying out the Targhee. It's bigger (2200ci / 35L). I love the lifetime warranty, but now that Gregory and Black Diamond merge I don't know if they'll honor it in 10 years... And probably shooting myself in the foot as next year I expect a Gregory with Avalung ???
Since I read about Arne Backstrom I plan Crystal for Sat, not sure if there is anything 'official' but assume others will be there

Anybody have any experience with the Trash Pack from Flylow Gear?

Looks pretty good to me on paper. Reasonably priced. Interesting idea of using recycled sailcloth. Ought to be pretty durable.
