Tried again at the White Pass Beacon Park today. I had better luck hitting the boxes in a more timely manner (about 3-4 minutes), but I still had my transceiver drop the signal when I turned it down to 2-0 meters. I'm hoping my times will improve with a three antenna beacon with a fine search mode that works properly.
I will keep it around for practice. A Barryvox Pulse is on the way. Sale price $350 from Telemarkski.com
For those in the market: REI also has all their beacons on sale now for at least 25% off. They had some good deals, but they didn't carry the one I wanted.
