High-end hut/lodge recommendations? was created by ryanjv1
I'm looking for a cool trip for my anniversary, but don't want to be roughing it for that particular occasion. I've heard of really nice huts/lodges up in the Canadian Rockies near Banff where they cook for you, etc while you stomp around in the nearby awesome terrain. Is there anything like that in the North/Central Cascades? If not, anything that would give much of the same "feel"?
Thanks!

Sounds like you're looking for something in the states, but if not I have done several trips with Golden Alpine Holidays out of Golden BC (

). Awesome lodges, terrain, and folks. There are a lot of ways to customize the trip (you can hire cooks, guides, or go it alone), they will even chopper in a keg of beer for ya!! Good luck, wherever you end up I'm jealous.

There are many like that in BC. One option, outside Sandpoint in Idaho, is the Caribou Mountain Lodge. Beautiful place with all the bells and whistles and excellent tree skiing and bowls nearby.

Right here in our own backyard: Scottish Lakes High Camp.
"High end" compared to a snow cave or tent. Personally, I wouldn't want it any less rustic.
Shared running water, showers, sauna, hottub, and toilets
Snomo's to haul in all you creature comforts, gear, and spirits
Easy to advanced terrain
Family friendly
Secluded
I'm always a little perplexed why it isn't more popular with the BC and touring crowd. I know many others here have known about this place for a long time, but there's just not much hub-bub about it.

there's a reason everyone goes to Canada, the terrain and snow cannot be matched. Kookanee lodge, Sorcerer, Fairy Meadows, man they are all heavenly.
Last year we did a trip at Wallowa Huts down in the Eagle Cap in NE Oregon. Yurts, dogs, sauna, great terrain and lower budget. With flexibility you can go to the snow!

Bear Mountaineering's Burnie Glacier Chalet is a little tougher to get to (a 2 hour flight from Vancouver then a .75 hour heli), but the terrain, the guide (Christoph), and the food (courtesy of Monica) cannot be beat.
