Might want to consider one of the resorts that offers SnowCAT skiing at the resort itself or close by; e.g., Powder Mountain (Ogden), Grand Targhee, etc.

My wife and I skied McCully Basin in early March: great weather,  awesome snow, challenging terrain, terrific food.  Morgan was our guide and I would highly recommend booking a session with him.  Yurt camping at 7200 ft, climbs up to about 9500.

ps. take the option of having them bring the keg in.

Ryan,
I noticed this is your first post here.  Welcome.
You mentioned "stomping around".  Do you and your wife plan on skiing?  I recommended SLHC because I assumed you weren't looking for a purely backcountry ski vacation.  They have a main lodge with books/games/mags, other non skiers to hang out with, private cabins, marked xc/snowshoe trails (with complimentary grab-and-go gear to borrow), and heated (but still chilly) bathrooms along with the other accommodations previously mentioned.
The hut/yurt trips (at least the ones I know of: Wallowas/McCully/Eagle Cap) are usually geared more towards a high camp established for days spent skiing the surrounding terrain.  Think wet thermal layers hanging from the inner skeleton of a yurt shared with other smelly skiers, a cold pit toilet, and dishpan hands from LOTS of hand sanitizer (better than the alternative), where the camp is a ghost town when the sun's up.  But yes, the skiing is great.
If that's what you and your wife are looking for, frankly, I'm jealous! :-[
I thought this would be an important clarification because you posted your request for information here; the cyber equivalent of a high alpine yurt full of smelly  skiers! ;D

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm sort of a noob at the backcountry bit, having cut my teeth on Tuckermans out east. I've gone on four BC tours in the great NW and have had a great time. I have not yet taken all the requisite avi training and such yet, so I'm stuck on low angle touring, going with good guides, and/or waiting for corn for the time being.

I was looking for a close-by version of a tour my buddies did to Skoki Lodge up near Banff. That place is unreal with a full breakfast prepped for you, a spread to pack your day-trip lunch, and gourmet meals for dinner all spread around an 11km ski in/out and the incredible Canadian Rockies terrain.

The SLHC huts sounded great to me, with nice low angle touring and at least an AT run back to Norse Creek at the end, but I got the "You have to tromp through the snow to pee in the middle of the night?!? I don't think so, buddy." Ah, well... I'll work on her. :) But yeah, yurts aren't in the equation for this particular trip. It's great to know what's out there, though, and those huts in the Selkirks made me drool all over my computer keyboard.

"the same feel " Well the Canadian huts are par excellance for feel. Not the same but with a feel of it's own is Timberline lodge hard to beat for luxury backcountry skiing. They have snocat skiing up on the palmer and if weather permits some pretty good above /side and below lift skiing. A tad bit closer as well.
Ive spent a few anniversaries there.
I might add it's really criminal or just plain sad to have Paradise lodge closed in the winter when the rest of the world maximizes ski touring lodging. What a waste of facilities ,even if a portion of it was open would be great. One might not be able to afford it every weekend but surely once in while like on anniverseries eh?

So obviously you're not looking for booking a large group to be the entire party for a week in a lodge, which is the majority of the fly or cat-in business. It can be a little different than the desired anniversary experience to tag onto the remaining two open spots on someone's week at a remote cabin where everyone else came in together. Also, you're wanting snow safety where it's not up to you unless it's clearly safe. If your sweetie is truly looking for indoor plumbing, you've gone up into the officially spendy category. So if high-end really is the desire, bust out the checkbook and check out Purcell Lodge. Private rooms with shared indoor baths with showers, very cush lodge in a mindblowing setting, out of this world cooking, guided ski touring in two to three groups of variable choices of ambition each day, with interesting terrain in a beautiful setting, but not the burly expert skiing of more dirtbag friendly places. And it tends to get booked by couples and smaller groups going in together, so it doesn't feel like you're on someone else's trip. And I'm a guy who prefers Fairy Meadow but will never get my wife there - so this advice is specific to the couple's trip. Get her hooked on the remote BC skiing sleeping indoors thing, and maybe the Asulkan will be your future together one day.
