what makes a good "ice" ski was created by Aleksey
Is it all about the edges? Then why dont my Voiles turn as they should even when the edges are sharp enough to make sushi?
Stiffer?Heavier? Serrated?
Any suggestions for skis that have fared well on the blue stuff? Is there such a thing? Should I just put some dynafits on my Legends and post trip reports instead?

Torsionally stiff, damp, and narrow.
At least, that's what I've always thought. I'm not much of an ice skier.

I have sharpened my edges until they could cut a hair like a finely honed samurai sword confident that I will no longer suck on ice.
I have then approached "iceberg" at Crystal on a coral reef day with confidence that I will ski down it like Bode Millar.
I launch, and immediately my Bode dreams evaporate into a morass of sideslipping turns as some other hot shot carves down in three turns leaving parallel train track marks on the ice, why , because my technique is so poor and my confidence factor low.
Skis and sharp edges help, but it's all (like PNWBrit says) about technique and confidence.

An excellent ice ski, for me, will get me down to the bar so I can wait for the powder to build up or the corn to start.

I'm sure your new in shower stall, keep your hands forward, exercise regime is going to help buddy!
You'll ski ice beautifully. Sharp edges or no.
Just once a day though.
Then you'll have to go and have a nap.
