Jonathan,
1) Park at end of main lot for Burroughs and Sourdough chutes. Restroom and concession stand. Ranger station.
1a) some chutes of Degge peak can be accessed from the Sunrise point lot.  Degge is the first peak east on Sourdough ridge and the east chute will be visible from Sunrise point lot. So stop there and check it out.
2) Burroughs are broad topped and are numbered east to west . Skiing the tops of the burroughs to third is basically a nordic tour. And sometimes not doable. The way to Burroughs is go west on sourdough ridge to Frozen lake then the trail which is marked peels off up and southwest to first burroughs. The top of burroughs  are the only tundra ecology in the lower 48. So rangers take a dim veiw of leaving the trail. I usually hike/ski to 3rd burroughs enjoy the veiw ,lunch and then ski back down to the entry to the burroughs pocket glaciers either side of 2 nd burroughs.middle of Kyles picture. #rd Burroughs is on the right with it's head in the clouds. This is the side visible in Kyles pics. and one can ski down into berkeky park and exit back to frozen lake. This north side is the steeper  skiing on Burroughs with a gentler runout to berkekey park. Now that I'm looking at Kyles pic more closely it appers it was taken on the trail to Mount Fremont. It's a good shot.
3)" Chutefest" usually happens the first sat and sunday opening weekend. These are the steeper northfacing chutes along sourdough ridge. Look for signs of it on this site.
4) Also take note in Kyles pic MT Ruth (on the left and behind burroughs ) accessed  from Glacier basin trailhead in Whiteriver campground and just beyond that Interglacier. You might want to saunter with skis on pack up that way as well.

There is a remote chance I'll be up there on saturday if i go anywhere this weekend. Family stuff.

enjoy

Super, many thanks -- looking forward to checking them out and hookup with w/ TAY'ers.

(BTW, Interglacier -- which I've done before, great ski -- is on top for Sat, then Fryingpan for Sunday. After that, off to Vancouver for conference, then back again for the Emmons, although not too optimistic given recent wx patterns.)

Has anyone heard for sure that Sunrise will be opening tomorrow? The NPS MRNP website still says, "Scheduled to open June 26, conditions permitting."

John Muir would be pissed at how long it takes them to open the road to sunrise.

They wait until the holiday crowds. It is all about the $$$$ anymore. I drove over Chinook Tuesday and there is still good snow coverage up there.

More like time to get double mad.
