Did you mountain bike up there? Are they still planning on opening the road next Friday? Will there be snow this year for the Dege Chutes Fest?
These and many more questions are racing through my mind...

As for coverage the NE slope are looking good? (for sunrise standards) but I didn't see Dege
Skyscraper ridge to Berkley looked nice though

Nope I hiked the 2.5 miles from White River Campground and I dont see why they wouldn't open on friday as the road has been melted out for weeks now.Did you mountain bike up there? Are they still planning on opening the road next Friday?

by the time I was on the 3rd burrough I couldn't see 5 feet in front of my face but hopefully this helpsLooks like you took the pcture from 1st burroughs. What about snow towards 3rd and by chance did you look at north facing pocket glaciers between third and 2nd ? The ski down from 2 1/2 Burroughs into Berkeley park is one of the best up there.

Really a shame that we can't staff that area sooner. The ski down from 2 1/2 Burroughs into Berkeley park is one of the best up there. Maybe about 15 years ago I ran into a bunch of Old timers hiking up there. Turns out they were Olympic skiers who use to practice slalom up there in sumner. Maybe Lowell Skoog knows something about this.

I'm planning to ski there Saturday.
So never having skied there previously, here goes with some stupid questions:
-- Best to just park at the end of the road in the main (?) lot? Or are any interesting lines available off of earlier turn-offs / parking lots?
-- Looking at the topo map, how are the different Burroughs peaks (?) counted?
-- To ski the Burroughs, just take an obvious hiking trail into Berkeley Park, and then, uh, look up to your left?
Thanks, and would be fun to meet up with some TAY'ers on Saturday. I'm probably staying in White River Campground Friday night.
(BTW, I skied yesterday -- in New Hampshire, hah! No really, I did.)
