Sunrise Sking potential ?

I called and talked to the dispatcher at MRNP and asked him tomorrow's opening of Sunrise. He said that the road would not be opening until July 3.
I pressed him as to what conditions were not permitting the opening. He said that there was no water for the restrooms, a remark I found puzzling as Kyle specifically wrote that the restroom worked.
I pointed out that the website was reporting that it would open tomorrow. He then said, "Wait one," then came back on and said that in fact the road is opening tomorrow.
I asked him if he knew approximately what time the road would open and he said, "noon."
sigh...
HAHAHA. Perfect.
What a bunch . Individually nice people but collectively WANKERS!

The Enumclaw Courier writes "The Sunrise Road will open to the public by noon on Friday, June 26."

I'm eurotrash so we only hike cuz we have to! I'd have lifts all over MRNP just like the Alps if I had my way.
The Interglacier double.
The Van Trump poma.
The Fryingpan gondola.
Just imagine!
Scotty, just forget the lifts and give us the huts, rifuggios and cabanas(Romanian).
Keith , the "stickmen" are going to sunrise on Saturday. Leaving my place at 7. looking for some easy shots on north burroughs.

" Double mad, however, is the man who can't ski the lofty mountain tops because the National Park Service are a bunch of wankers who won't open the road early enough"
Hear you finally got to what's left up there Scotty. Not all NPS are wankers, tho; mostly it's the management, and it's not just at Rainier. According to the 2009 Best Places to Work survey, the National Park Service ranks surprisingly close to the bottom of all federal agencies in terms of employee job satisfaction: 160th out of 216 agencies. The common denominator of respondent's complaints was poor leadership. Details at: www.nationalparkstraveler.com/2009/06/su...vernment-agency-work
